Directions by car - Exit the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A591 to the Lake District. You will pass by Kendal and need to follow the signs for Windermere/Ambleside. After approximately eight miles you will pass through Ings Village (beware of the speed camera just after the petrol station). A mile further on the road passes over a hill and descends into a dip. As the road starts to climb out of the dip turn right into a small lane (look for the white "Common Farm" sign on the tree). Follow the narrow lane (with care). The first house you reach on the right is a gate house to Applethwaite Hall. Drive up the long driveway and park in the allocated space for number 12.
Train - the nearest station is Windermere, and it is a 20 minute walk or a short taxi ride to Applethwaite Hall.
Robyn's Nest is accessed via the main double wooden doors to the house on the right of the main building
